Over two days at the ARC at Campbelltown, 17 SPSC boys participated in the SA High School Squash Championships – the largest squad the School has ever fielded in this annual event. 11 boys played in the Middle School event (Years 7 to 9) and eight competed in the Senior school event for Years 10 to 12.
Bringing together the best young boys and girls from across the state resulted in some high-quality squash. For many of our boys this was their first squash tournament and a wonderful opportunity to test their skills. Our boys can be very proud of how they conducted themselves both on the court and off it as scorers, officials and supporters.
There were some very pleasing results, especially amongst the senior team. Cruz Leon and Henry Lehman finished in the last eight, and Daniel Spyrou finished in the top 16. The senior squad also finished as the fourth ranked team – which was a strong result given it was a co-ed tournament. A big thank you to Dr Ben Haines for assisting with supervision and Lucas and Deb from Squash SA for running another successful event.
