Over the past two weeks elective classes in Year 11 Sport Science and Year 10 Biomechanics visited the University of South Australia High Performance Centre.

The Year 10 Biomechanics students investigated torque in the quadriceps and hamstrings using an Isokinetic machine, in addition to watching a high-speed motion analysis of a ‘jumping and changing direction’ experiment. Year 11 IB Sport, Exercise and Health Science students also took part in a Maximum Oxygen Consumption test and a Lactate Threshold analysis. These experiences provide real world applications to their studies, and the continued relationship with the University has enabled a range of excursions to be held over the past three years.
