On Wednesday 20 September, boys from our ELC, Prep and Reception classes joined our friends from Walford Anglican School for Girls to participate in the Spring Magic Festival. This immersive free-play experience provided an opportunity to connect with nature in the gardens of Athelney House.

Learners explored local flora and fauna, made potions, built cubbies with natural materials and enjoyed sensory play. All learners had agency to manage their time and were keen to move between activities of interest.

The experience, in collaboration with The Nature Play SA Education Team, was designed to create a platform for environmental awareness and appreciation for the natural world. After the Spring Magic Festival, all learners sat in the gardens of the ELC to eat morning tea. Conversations continued and friendships flourished.
