Speed @ Saints

Many sports require short sprints inclusive of rapid acceleration. The more effective and conditioned participants are at executing these movements, the more likely they will outrun an opponent or quickly chase down a ball.

When: Sessions have now commenced and are programmed for every Tuesday and Wednesday of the term, 7.00am – 8.00am. Students are welcome to attend one or both sessions on a weekly basis.
Where: Meet at Scotchy’s Shed, the green athletics shed on Farr Oval for a 7am start.
How to join: Simply email me an expression of interest then boys can attend on the day.

Run Club

For this term, students/parents/staff are all welcome to join the Saints Run Club! Why join?  Stamina or cardiorespiratory endurance is one of the requirements for achieving good general health. It’s also highly beneficial for competitive involvement in many of our chosen sports. What does Run Club look like? Each week’s content will cater for a variety of abilities, age groups and previous experiences.

When: Sessions have now commenced and continue each Friday 7.00am – 8.00am for the remainder of the term.
Where: Meet in the Sports Centre Café for a 7am start.
How to join: Simply email me an expression of interest then keen participants attend on the day.

Saints Track and Field

Track and Field is offered to all boys as a summer competition sport (Terms 1 and 4). There is also opportunity for boys who have chosen alternative sports to choose athletics as a ‘second’ sport.  In this case, while boys are welcome to enter weekend competitions, they may use training sessions purely as an opportunity to enhance personal athletic development (throwing, jumping, sprinting/acceleration, hurdling etc.)

When: Sessions have commenced and are programmed Mondays & Thursdays 3.45pm-5pm
Where: Meet at Scotchy’s Shed, the green athletics shed on Farr Oval for a 3.45 start.
How to join: Simply email me an expression of interest then boys can attend on the day.
