2025 has been a year of renewal, connection and meaningful generosity for the St Peter’s College Foundation. A major highlight was the 40th anniversary celebration in Memorial Hall, where families, old scholars and supporters and donors gathered to honour four decades of philanthropy at St Peter’s College.
The evening featured vibrant performances by the Drumline and SPOC Music, a toast from Michael Harbison (SHT 1970), a scholarship presentation by Matthew Hutchinson (YNG 1997) and the ceremonial cutting of a replica Memorial Hall cake by former Headmaster Dr Tony Shinkfield AO. The milestone also marked the launch of the Memorial Hall Fund, a perpetual fund dedicated to preserving this iconic gathering place for future generations.
Scholarships remained central to the Foundation’s mission. Donors and scholarship recipients connected through meaningful stewardship opportunities, including the Scholarship Donor Lunch in October – a moving celebration of the impact these awards make in the lives of boys. Several major renewal projects progressed during the year, including the Years 3–4 Playground Renewal, the Burchnall Sports Centre changeroom upgrade, the refurbishment of the RT Potter Room in Old School House and the restoration and unveiling of the Chapel flèche.
The completion of the Main Oval centre wicket under Project Pitch In marked a significant milestone, while the rowing community celebrated the christening of two new boats – the Don Sarah AM and the John Brook – generously supported through Project Quick Start. Community connection continued to deepen, with the inaugural Celebrating Generations event, Junior School Grandparents and Special Friends’ Week, and an expanded Foundation presence at School events, including sports days and the Alfresco Concert.
As the Foundation looks to 2026, support across its core funds – including the Building, Scholarship, Library, Museum and Endowment Funds – will remain essential in preserving heritage, expanding opportunity and strengthening the future of St Peter’s College.
