16 June 2023
On a wet, windy and cold day in Oakbank, 31 St Peter’s College Senior School students came together to form our 2023 Cross Country Team. I congratulate every one of them for supporting the day, for their support of each other and for their overall approach to the day’s challenges.
It was truly an extremely special day. The School attended the day with teams in each of the 13, 14, 15, 16 and Open age group divisions. Prior to the State Championships, Junior School athletes were required to qualify via a SAPSASA District competition (North Adelaide District). The Championships are a selection event for the Secondary Schools Sport SA Cross Country Team to compete at Nationals in Canberra mid next term. Good luck to all athletes who chose to enter future qualifying events and for future selection procedures.
A special congratulations to
- Jonathan Harris (Year 12) for his GOLD medal effort in winning the Open Boys race
- Stephen Lacroix-Sneyd (Year 10) for his SILVER medal performance in the 16 Year Boys
- Shreyus Arramraj (Year 8) for a well-deserved 4th place in the 14 Year Boys,
- Our 15 and 16 Age Group Teams on winning TEAM GOLD (first four across the line automatically are acknowledged as your team) and
- Open Age Group Team on winning TEAM SILVER (first three across the line automatically are acknowledged as your team).
A special thanks to all boys outside of our weekly Cross Country Squad for supporting our objectives inclusive of fielding competitive teams in each age group.
On behalf of the boys, I thank our Coaching Staff of Jessica Pascoe, Zac Connell and Rick Wilson. Their contribution prior to the event and valuable leadership/support on the day was extremely valuable to all squad members.
