St Peter’s College hosted the State Competition for the third year in a row. We had robot soccer players in the Science Room, robot dancers in the Function Area, and robot rescuers and robot sumo wrestlers in the Junior School Hall.
There were 263 students in 109 teams representing 11 schools from around the state who were competing in the four disciplines. SPSC registered 10 Sumo teams (primary) and 15 Rescue teams (four Riley Rover, four Primary and seven Secondary) and finished with the following outstanding results:
First in the Riley Rover Rescue
Hugo Yates, Huxley Papps-Burford, Easton Papps-Burford and Oscar Sounes (Year 5)
Second in the Riley Rover Rescue
Vincent Xu and Sujay Babu (Year 6)
First in the Primary Rescue
Felix Siow and Henry Ye (Year 5)
Second in the Primary Rescue
Matthew Tran and Kelvin Huan (Year 6)
Third in the Secondary Rescue
Vipul Pabbathi and Sunny Zhang (Year 8)
Third in the Standard Sumo (Spike)
Harry Duncan and Jeremy Kent (Year 4)
We also had eight other teams finish in the top 10 places: Aidan Du and Edward Gross 4th place; Lochie Siow, Ishaan Chaudhuri and Nemindu Athukorala 5th place and You Yi Chen and Jason Li in 6th place.
This has set us up really well for the National Competition which will be held at the Showgrounds in Wayville at the end of term, where we will have 11 teams competing in the Rescue discipline.
Congratulations to the 58 boys who participated and best of luck to those who will compete at Wayville.
