St Peter’s College hosted the State RoboCup Junior Competition for the second year in a row on Monday 30 August.
Thirty-two SPSC teams competed in a field of 100 teams. Of the four disciplines (rescue, sumo, soccer and onstage) we had 14 Years 3 to 4 teams compete in Standard Sumo, 12 Years 5 to 6 teams compete in Primary Rescue and 6 Years 7 to 8 teams compete in Secondary Rescue.
The boys and their robots did an amazing job on the day and to their credit, we came first and third in Primary Rescue, first and third in Standard Sumo and first in Secondary Rescue. This was our second year of competing in the secondary competition and the boys managed to put a stop to Seaton High School’s ten-year winning streak. Congratulations to all the boys who participated and special mention to those that took one of the first three places: Easton Papps-Burford and Oscar Sounes; Charles Nguyen and Brayden Xu, Hunter Di Blasio and Yifei Ren; and Ed Gross and Adian Du.
