The lucky cast of Strictly Ballroom the Musical were given the opportunity to participate in a workshop with cast member of the original stage play, Tony Poli.
Tony was one of the original eight NIDA students to co-create the piece alongside Baz Luhrmann, in his directorial debut. It was incredibly powerful to hear Tony’s personal account of how this “love story amid a revolution” came to be, and the students benefitted greatly from his generosity.
As we prepare for opening night in Term 2, Tony’s insight into these iconic characters was invaluable. We hope to see him at the show as our special guest!
