On Saturday 5 September, Memorial Hall came alive as string players from across St Peter’s College joined together for the 2026 Strings and Orchestra Concert.

The afternoon showcased the remarkable breadth of the School’s Strings program, beginning with some of our youngest musicians in Palm House Strings and extending all the way through to Senior Orchestra.

Collaboration was at the heart of this year’s concert. Alongside performances by each ensemble, boys had several opportunities to combine across year levels, including Mystical Beasts, performed by Preparatory and Junior String Orchestras, and Leroy Anderson’s Plink, Plank, Plunk!, bringing Chamber, Hill Wing and Senior Strings together.

The concert culminated in its largest collaboration of the afternoon, with every Strings ensemble from Years 1 to 12 sharing the stage for an arrangement of Dvořák’s New World Symphony. For our youngest musicians, it was an opportunity to perform alongside the senior players they can aspire to become; for our older boys, a chance to lead and contribute to the next generation of Strings at Saints.
Congratulations to all involved!
