06 February 2020
A warm welcome to the 2020 school year everyone and especially those who are new to the senior school. St Peter’s College strives to deliver an exceptional education, supportive pastoral care and wellbeing for all boys. The school has an inclusive enrolment policy and those boys who have been identified with additional needs are given a variety of flexible options to ensure they are able to reach their full potential in a supportive and respectful environment.
The Diverse Learning Needs team is an integral part of St Peter’s College. We liaise closely with the Senior Leadership Team and offer a whole school support network to the rest of the teaching staff. We play a key role in promoting inclusion and access to the curriculum for all boys. We seek to ensure that the individual needs of all boys, including those with a disability or require extension, are met, valued, included and supported, and ensure all reasonable differentiations are made.
Our team are conscientious in their efforts to ensure that each student at St Peter’s College, with additional needs, have arrangements in place for reviewing, monitoring and evaluating their progress, inclusion into the curriculum and ensure they are provided with diversity and differentiation sensitive to the needs of the boys.
Lunchtime Support
Lunchtime support is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 12.50pm – 1.25pm, still giving students plenty of time to eat their lunch. All are welcome, regardless of their year level or ability. Over the years, we have noticed that those attending twice a week to revise, have seen an improvement in their grades.
Boys who attend may have been absent from school and need to catch up on work or are unable to do homework due to work/sporting commitments or perhaps want to improve their grades and need a quiet place to study. We offer a quiet, caring environment where all boys can come to work either independently or seek assistance with homework or schoolwork.
