Congratulations to Max Hewitt (Year 9) and Alden Au (Year 9) who represented South Australia in the Australia School Sport Swimming Championship in Sydney from 22-26 August 2023.  
 
Max participated in seven individual events qualifying for the final in all seven. He claimed gold in his main event (14 men) 100 freestyle, 4th in 200 freestyle; 5th in 200 IM, 50 freestyle 50 and 100 butterfly. He also won bronze in the in 13-14 men 4×50 freestyle relay. In 13-14 men 4×50 Medley Relay, the boys missed out onmedal but they set a new SA state record.

Alden Au won bronze for the mixed 13-14 200m Medley relay and broke the SA record for boys 13-14 200m Medley relay. He also made finals for all of his individual events and recorded personal best times.

A week before the national competition Alden and his brother Isaac (Year 12) competed in the SA State Short Course Championship.

Alden achieved:
Gold for boys 13-14 years  50m Breastroke
Gold for boys 13-14 years  100m Breastroke
Bronze Boys 13-14100m IM

Despite an injury interrupted preparation Isaac competed in 9 individual events plus 8 relay events, making the finals and recording PBs for the majority of his events. Isaac and his team won 6/8 medals for relays
