The Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award is a national competition which seeks to contribute to the personal development of 12–14-year-olds by encouraging the best use of spoken English. The aim of the event is to enhance students’ oral communication skills and to help students appreciate the ideals of Legacy, which are – voluntary service, social justice, caring, personal sacrifice and mateship.
Congratulations to our St Peter’s College representative, Year 7 student, Ben McCorley, who competed over the weekend. Ben presented an impressive prepared speech as well as an impromptu response to the topic, “What’s important to me?” Well done Ben!
