2021 is proving to be an excellent year in the Humanities Faculty. We would like to take the opportunity to recognise outstanding student achievement in Geography and History.

Geography Prizes: 2021 Australian Geography Competition Results

As part of their curriculum, the Years 10, 11 and 12 Geography students participated in the 2021 Australian Geography Competition. The competition involves over 65,000 students from nearly 700 schools across Australia. Students complete 50 multiple-choice questions based on Global Geography. The results this year were outstanding with 15% of SPSC students finishing in the top 5% of the state.

Further to this, SPSC provided the state winners for South Australia in both senior divisions:

  • Guy Strong and Josh Watson tied in equal first place in South Australia for Year 12.
  • Campbell Craig finished in first place in Year 11. Campbell will participate in the Australian Geography Competition finals on the Gold Coast later this year and compete to represent Australia in the International Geography Olympiad to be held in Europe in 2022.

Well done to our Geography students, and all the staff, on a magnificent result!
