Earlier this month, I was honoured to travel to Canberra for a week to take part in the Trans-Tasman Regatta as the Coxswain for the Australian Under 21 Women’s Eight and Coxed Four.
The week comprised of a training camp, where we met the team and gained some valuable sessions in our various crews. The regatta took place on the 16 – 18 June in the form of numerous races against our New Zealand counterparts. The Under 21 Australian Team saw complete dominance over New Zealand, winning every event, and taking home the Rusty Robertson Trophy.
This was the first international competition for me and my squad, and it was great to be part of such a successful campaign. The Under 21 Australian Team is an opportunity designed to introduce athletes to the higher level of competition and standard of sport on a national team competing internationally.
