The Junior School Library has started this term by taking the library to the classroom – welcome Uber Library! Borrowing for ELC to Year 3 students for this term has begun with surprise grab bags being delivered to classrooms. These bags include a selection of books from different areas of the library, including quick reads, picture books, fiction and non-fiction books. The boys have been so excited to discover what is inside their lucky dip bag, with lots of exclamations as their bags were opened.
Students in Year 4 to Year 6 have been making their borrowing selections from a surprise trolley. These trolleys of books have been made available to students during their library lessons. Other possibilities for borrowing this term will include genre bags as well as surprise grab bags. These borrowing opportunities are allowing boys to discover the gems in our collection that are often overlooked.
Returned books are collected from classrooms each morning and placed into quarantine for seven days before being added back into circulation. Reservations made by the students are also included in their grab bags, once they come out of quarantine.
