Over the July holidays, the St Peter’s College 1st XI embarked on a remarkable 23-day cricket tour across the United Kingdom. From iconic English schools to royal grounds, and from unforgettable team dinners to cultural highlights, the tour was a true test of skill, character, and spirit.
The team kicked off their campaign with strong wins against London County Academy and Winchester College, featuring standout half-centuries from Brayden Carter, Will Howard, and Henry Darcey. As the squad travelled through England, they continued to impress, with memorable fixtures against renowned institutions such as Eton College, Bradfield, and Kings Worcester. A thrilling match against the Royal Household Cricket Club at Windsor stood out as a unique experience, set against the backdrop of Windsor Castle.
The tour was more than just cricket. The team immersed themselves in the rich history of England with visits to Buckingham Palace, the Churchill War Rooms, and a private guided tour of Lord’s—the home of cricket. A major highlight came mid-tour, with the boys attending Day 1 of the England v India Test Match at Edgbaston.
Off the field, the boys demonstrated growing maturity, navigating the London Underground, managing team logistics when travel plans changed, and making the most of shared experiences. Team dinners, barefoot tennis on the lawns of Felsted, and attending Back to the Future: The Musical added to the camaraderie and joy of the trip.
In the final stretch, the team participated in the Felsted Tournament, competing against Knox Grammar, Felsted, and Newington College. The tour culminated in a heartfelt farewell dinner and the final match for Year 12s Felix, Charlie, and Angus.

Student Reflection
After a term of preparation, the St Peter’s College 1st XI had the privilege of travelling to the UK for the 2025 England Cricket Tour. Over an action-packed three weeks, we tested ourselves in unfamiliar conditions and embraced the challenges that came with playing cricket in England. The boys showed great development for the upcoming season, displaying grit, adaptability and sportsmanship throughout the tour.
The most memorable fixtures were against Eton College, the Royal Household at Windsor Castle and Felsted School. Likewise, we were privileged to have a guided tour of Lord’s, watch England vs India in a Test match at Edgbaston and tour Eton. Beyond cricket, we soaked up England’s rich culture, exploring London’s famous landmarks, bonding over team dinners and enjoying our free time. These moments strengthened our friendships and built memories we’ll never forget.

- Felix Polasek – 99* vs King Edwards, 82* vs Knox Grammar, 77* vs Royal Household; leading run scorer with 397 runs
- Charlie M-H – 51 vs Catford and Cyphers
- Will Howard – 61 vs London Academy
- Henry Darcey – 76 vs Eton College
- Carl Cavenett – 52 vs Kings Worcester
