During National Volunteer Week, we proudly celebrated the many parents, caregivers, old scholars and community members who generously give their time to support life at St Peter’s College. Their contribution helps strengthen connections across our School and enriches the experience of students and families alike.

Volunteers play a vital role in bringing our community to life, from assisting at events and welcoming new families to mentoring students and supporting service initiatives. Whether you have a few hours to offer or are interested in ongoing involvement, there are many ways to contribute.

Ways to Get Involved
Friends of Saints Committees –
The Friends of Saints parent committees create community spirit and connection across both the Junior and Senior Schools.

Junior School Friends of Saints (JSFoS) – supports families from Early Years to Year 6 through events such as Movie Night, Quiz Night, breakfasts, BBQs and coffee mornings.

Senior School Friends of Saints (SSFoS) – supports families from Year 7 to Year 12 and assists with events including Athletics Day, BBQs and community gatherings.

Year Level Representatives
Junior School Year Level Representatives help build strong connections between families by:
• Organising year level events
• Welcoming new families
• Supporting and connecting existing families
Activities may include morning teas, Bottle & Plate Nights and family gatherings.

Volunteer Pool – Parents and caregivers can also join the Volunteer Pool to assist at events on an as needed basis, without the commitment of a formal committee role. This is a flexible way to support the School community when time allows.

Junior School Learning Assistance Program (LAP) – St Peter’s College Junior School runs a Learning Assistance Program to provide prescriptive literacy support for a small group of students. The program focuses on supporting students with their English language learning. The Junior School is currently seeking volunteers who can offer an hour of their time, one to two mornings a week, to support the program. If you would like to find out more about the program or register your interest, please contact our Junior School Learning Assistance Program Coordinator, Geraldine Waldron.  E: gwaldron@stpeters.sa.edu.au or T: 0423 981 454.

Friends of Music & Sport Support Groups – Support School sport, music programs and performances while connecting with other families and helping create memorable experiences for students.

Mission Guild – Founded in 1923, the St Peter’s College Mission Guild raises funds for Anglicare SA, St John’s Youth Services and other charitable organisations through initiatives such as the Recycled Uniform Shop, pop up stalls and the Annual High Tea. The Mission Guild also supports the School’s Service Learning programs, Buddy Up and Mary Mags Dinners.

Service Learning – Volunteers can support meaningful student initiatives including the Buddy Up Program, Sony Camp for children living with disability and meal preparation for the Mary Magdalene Centre supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Careers & Mentoring – Parents, old scholars and members of the broader community are invited to share their professional knowledge through career talks and mentoring opportunities.

Volunteer Requirements – All volunteers must hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and have completed Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) training. The School can assist volunteers in completing these requirements.
