On Wednesday 19 February, the Schola Cantorum from Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, London, visited and workshopped with our Senior Choir, Middle Years Choir, and Junior School Chamber Choir. With an impressive history, the Schola Cantorum has been featured in numerous film soundtracks over the years, including Paddington, Harry Potter, and The Life of Pi.
Our choirs enjoyed collaborating in workshops and bonding over recess with food and football (the real football!). The Schola Cantorum also experienced a true Aussie treat, enjoying a sausage sizzle with Tim Tams and lamingtons, courtesy of our wonderful Friends of Music.
The visit culminated in a stunning lunchtime concert, where the Schola Cantorum showcased the power of their all-boys choir through a diverse repertoire. A standout moment was Malakai Bayoh’s moving performance of Pie Jesu, which earned him Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent in 2023. The concert concluded with two combined pieces with our choirs, bringing together over 100 male voices from both schools.
We are grateful to the Schola Cantorum for inspiring our students and community through their incredible voices. To watch the concert, visit our homepage on Keystone – Music at Saints.
