As we look back on Term 1, one of the most impactful moments came on the final day. As many of you may have seen, the Prefect group took part in the World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser in support of the Leukemia Foundation. We all shaved our heads to a number 2, not just as a symbolic gesture, but to raise crucial awareness and funds for those affected by blood cancer. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we are pleased to report that we have raised a record, over $44,000 in donations, alongside more than $1,000 on the day from the sausage sizzle.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed — every donation, no matter how small, has the power to make a real and lasting difference in someone’s life. We thank the boys from Farr House who ran the barbecue, as well as those who provided the live music; it all contributed to a memorable, successful event. Also, we thank Mr Ed Ruediger for all his efforts, and the many others who were at work behind the scenes to bring the day together.

The funds we raised through the World’s Greatest Shave supported essential services for patients and families dealing with blood cancer — from emotional and practical support, to vital research that brings us closer to a cure. For someone going through treatment, that support can mean hope, strength, and the reassurance that they are not alone.

By taking part in this fundraiser, we as a school have helped make that possible. It’s a powerful reminder that small acts, when multiplied by many, can have an extraordinary impact.

The donation page is live until the end of the year, so if you would still like to make a donation, you can do so here. Thank you once again to our Prefects, to all who supported within the School, and to the wider community whose generous donations made this effort such a meaningful success.
