Each week, our library visits have become a valued part of our learning. They give the boys time to explore books, returning to old favourites and finding new titles to enjoy. The library is a space where reading feels easy and enjoyable.

This term, with guidance from Mrs White, the boys have been learning about non-fiction texts. They’re getting to know features like contents pages, glossaries, indexes and labelled diagrams. They’ve begun putting this into practice by creating their own non-fiction books all about foxes. Along the way, they’re building their literacy and research skills and taking pride in their work.

It has also been lovely to see the boys share their reading with each other. During borrowing time, the library often fills with quiet chatter as they sit together, take turns reading, listen in or read in small groups. These moments bring the boys together and create a sense of connection through books.

Reading has become a relaxed and enjoyable part of their week, something they look forward to and something they do together. We are very grateful to Mrs White, Mrs Sexton, Mrs Jenkins and Mrs Dansie for all they do in this much-loved space.
