The 1R class have been learning about fractions in Maths during Term 2. The students have explored making fractions from whole objects and different ways to cut food.

The 1R students were extremely lucky to have Ray Dahdah from Marcellina’s Pizza to come to class and help teach them about how to make pizza. By making pizzas the class received not only a delicious lunch but also learned about fractions when cutting the pizzas into slices.

Each student had a special pizza base and box. Ray showed them step by stop how to create the perfect pizza. It was essential they carefully followed the instructions accurately to ensure a crispy, tasty pizza for lunch.

The Junior School had the scrumptious smell of pizza wafting through the halls as they cooked away in the ovens. The class even received a visit from Mr David Hine, Head of Junior School for lunch.

After the learning activity the students wrote a procedural text to keep record of how to make the pizzas.
