In Week 7, the Year 1 cohort was warmly welcomed to the Senior School Science laboratories for an exciting introduction to Physics. In class groups, the students engaged in a hands-on lesson on magnetism, exploring this fascinating physical phenomenon through practical activities and demonstrations.
The students worked collaboratively to investigate the properties of magnets and how magnetic forces are applied in everyday technologies. From simple attractions and repulsions to real-world applications, the sessions brought science to life for our budding learners.
It was inspiring to see such enthusiasm from our youngest SPSC students, many of whom may well become the physicists and Nobel Prize winners of the future. Their eagerness to ask questions and connect with the natural world reflected the strength of their developing scientific thinking.
A special thank you goes to Mr Ethan Puckridge, our Senior Physics Laboratory Technician, for leading the experiments with such energy and passion. Appreciation is also extended to the Year 1 teachers for accompanying the students, and to Ms Josephine De Angelis for her excellent organisation of the day.
