04 December 2025
On Wednesday, 3 December, the Year 11 cohort embarked on a full day retreat at the Torrens Boat Shed, a day designed to mark the beginning of their Year 12 journey and foster unity, leadership, and personal reflection as students prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead in 2026.
The retreat began with a special morning Chapel service, with a thoughtful homily deliver by Mr Conner Henry setting a reflective tone for the day ahead. From there, students enjoyed a refreshing walk along the Torrens, taking in the fresh air and strengthening connections with peers before arriving at the Boat Shed.
The program for the day included three sessions, each crafted to encourage reflection and collaboration. These included a Solo Reflection Experience, where students took time for quiet contemplation, considering their personal goals and values as they transition into their final year of schooling.
Students participated in team building activities which emphasised teamwork, communication and resilience. The creation of a House Manifesto lead by Mr Michael Lucas, encouraged students in their House groups to collaborate and design manifestos for their Houses, articulating aspirations, goals and the legacy they hope to leave in 2026.
The retreat was more than a day away from the classroom; it was a foundation for leadership and community building, setting students up with the mindset to thrive in their final year at SPSC.
