Last week, the Year 7 German language students enjoyed a specially prepared German breakfast, in style, on the Pentreath Balcony as part of a cultural and linguistic experience.

On the menu were waffles with marmalade or apple sauce and cream, as well as fresh fruit. This was accompanied by a drink of hot chocolate – a German favourite!

The students were required to order their meal speaking only in German. In previous lessons, the students had practised the required language for ordering food and drink, as well as expressions of politeness, such as ‘I would like..’, ‘please’, ‘thank you’ ‘you’re welcome’ and ‘enjoy your meal’.

Much German was used during the morning and the boys were enthusiastic in ordering and using the language they had learned.
