In Week 7 on Monday and Wednesday, the Year 7 French students participated in an excursion to the Art Gallery of South Australia to visit the Monet to Matisse exhibition as part of their unit on famous French people and monuments. Students got to see a range of artwork from Paris and Europe, including some by artists that they have studied in class, such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Henri Matisse and Paul Cezanne.
The students saw a range of paintings and sculptures from a variety of artistic movements throughout their time in the Art Gallery. I was very impressed with the behaviour and thoughtful appreciation of the artwork that the students demonstrated on their excursions. I would like to thank the staff who supported these excursions who helped to make them successful.
