In Week 6, a group of seven Year 9 students competed in a French Quiz. The French Quiz Night, held at Walford Anglican School for Girls and organised by SAFTA (the South Australian French Teachers’ Association), was a great experience. With six teams competing, the atmosphere was filled with excitement as prizes were at stake.

The quiz had rounds dedicated to various French topics, including Art, Sports, History and Famous Celebrities. Each round encouraged teamwork, as we collaborated to achieve our answers. With each person having unique strengths, we were set on first place.

The first few rounds were a slow start, as we were coming in fifth. However, our team made a comeback, which propelled the SPSC team into third place. We received a prize consisting of French foods and delicacies, which made the achievement even more memorable. Although first place wasn’t achieved, it was still an exciting time for everyone, which is why I highly recommend this quiz to any Year 8 student keen to participate next year.

Hopefully, next year’s SPSC team will dethrone the current champions, Walford.
