The annual Years 3 – 6 Swimming Carnival was held on Wednesday 27 February in the Burchnall Sports Centre. Each event was a competitive exhibition, with all boys striving to earn maximum points for their House.

The Junior School Swimming Carnival is a culmination of the hard work the boys put in during their swimming lessons in the previous weeks. Each student is to be congratulated for their efforts in the pool and for the support that they showed each other.

Congratulations to the following boys were the top place getters for their age groups:

There are two cups that the boys in Year 5 and Year 6 have the opportunity to compete for during the carnival; the Edward Cherry Cup for the 4 x 25m Open Medley and the Gardiner Cup for the 100m Freestyle. Congratulations to William Donnelly (Year 6) who won the Edward Cherry Cup and Donovan Fahey (Year 6) who won the Gardiner Cup.

Although everyone tried their best, there can only be one winning house and for an unbelievable fourth year in a row Stokes-Ware was the winning house.

I would like to thank all of the staff for their support and willingness to help out throughout the day. I would also like to thank Mr Bernie Juckers and his team in the Sports Centre for their help in setting up and ensuring that we had everything that we needed for a successful day.
