The theme for this year’s Year 5 and 6 concert was The Sounds of Motown. There were some amazing performances by the Co-curricular Ensembles, Swing Band, The Chamber Strings, Year 6 Rock Band, the Years 5 and 6 Choir, Chamber Choir and the Junior School Concert Band.
The Year 5 boys enjoyed learning songs including Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, As, and Blame It On The Boogie. Each year 6 class also spent Term 2 carefully learning choreography to Uptight (Ev’rything’s Alright) ABC, Get Ready and Dancin In The Streets.
The Junior School Prep Concert Band played I Can’t Help Myself and Stop! In the Name of Love, both composed by the Motown composing team of Holland, Dozier and Holland.
The concert was thoroughly enjoyable for both the performers and the audience, and showcased the amazing talents of our boys.
