Belonging and Camaraderie

Upon commencement at St Peter’s College, every student is allocated a house, each of which is led and guided by the Head of House. Houses are the fundamental units in the pastoral care system at the School for each boy to receive guidance and encouragement. This system provides many opportunities for students to participate in annual traditions and community activities enhancing a sense of belonging and camaraderie. In Years 7 and 8, students are part of Mentor classes with other students from their year levels. In Years 9 to 12, students are organised into small Mentor groups under the guidance of a Mentor.

Our house system promotes the social, academic, spiritual and emotion wellbeing of each student. Specifically, our House System aims to:

  • Increase the positive influence of the School on a boy’s character
  • Help boys meet their responsibilities in their studies, School activities and the wider community
  • Instill the lasting virtues of courage, honesty, decency and loyalty
  • Foster a School spirit that expresses itself in positive relationships
  • Discover and recognise the talents of each boy
  • Help students with any problems that may arise
  • Provide academic, moral, social and emotional support and guidance
